Guide for On-Demand 3D Model Generation
What is on-demand generation on iteration3d.fr?
On-demand generation allows the iteration3d.fr generation engine to create a 3D model (consisting of one or more files) based on specific dimensions/parameters not currently available on the site.
Once generated, and just like the existing 3D models on iteration3d.fr, the new model will be made available on the platform. This new model remains the property of iteration3d.fr. It is made available for download under one or more licenses, free and/or paid, just like the existing models on the site.
On-demand generation is not available for all templates. When on-demand generation is available, a yellow icon of a pointing finger appears to the right of the template name.
How to launch on-demand generation?
The first step is to perform a search with the desired dimensions. If the 3D model is not available on the site, then on-demand generation will be offered.
The search is available on each template page.
If the model does not exist with the submitted dimensions and the template is eligible for on-demand generation, a box will appear suggesting to start the generation.
On-demand generation page
When you click on the "Request build" button, you are redirected to the on-demand generation page. On-demand generation pages are recognizable by the template title highlighted in yellow.
Form
The values you previously entered during your search on the template page are carried over. All fields must be filled in.
Fill in all the fields and click the "Verify" button.
The model already exists or is in the queue
If a model with the entered values already exists, the site will offer a download link.
Similarly, if the model is already in the queue (its generation is scheduled and registered), a future download link will be provided. This link will allow you to access the model once it has been generated.
Values inconsistent
If the generation engine detects values that are inconsistent with the instructions, the site will indicate the reason and show which values need to be corrected.
Data validation
If the model does not exist, is not currently being generated, and the values are consistent, the generation page displays a summary of the entered values and, if applicable, the resulting values.
It is important to review the resulting values if present. They represent other dimensions derived from the ones you entered.
You can edit the values or start the final generation by clicking the yellow button.
Saving the generation request
After clicking the button, your generation request is saved. A link is provided. Save this link — it will allow you to access the model once it has been generated. An estimated waiting time is also displayed.
You can also choose to stay on the generation page. You will be automatically redirected once the model is ready.
Access the generated model
The link you copied will take you to the model search page with the field pre-filled. Just click the "Search" button.
You can also directly enter the generation code (e.g., X9-M7-V7-F9). If the model has been successfully generated, it will appear in the results.
